Return to REAP - Tom Bishop

From 2019-2021 you may well have seen Tom Bishop riding our first pre-production Vekta road bike on the World Triathlon Series circuit in his bid to secure 2021 Tokyo Olympic selection. This period of testing the Vekta on triathlon's biggest stage saw it put through its paces with tens of fast-paced races and a number of crashes thrown in for good measure. It also saw our first REAP World Champion with Georgia Taylor-Brown in 2020.

After that, Tom headed on a different path within triathlon, while we at REAP restructured. Tom has been earning his stripes on the middle- and long-distance triathlon stage with a number of very deserved high-profile results. Tom is an absolute world-class athlete and perhaps the nicest guy in triathlon. He was on fire last year but was plagued with a bit of bad luck causing some unfortunate retirements from races where Tom had shown great strength physiologically.

But this year, he's back with a vengeance and in flying form. We know that Tom has had a great winter, spending some time training out in Thailand, then more recently in Portugal. The big change for Tom this year is the new bike.

Tom will be riding with us at REAP for the next two years and will be racing on the new REAP Vulcan Disc, targeting some super high-profile triathlon events.

Last week we were present at Tom's pre-season testing with Wattshop at Derby Velodrome where we helped to dial Tom into his position ready to smash some bike courses this year and next. The results were great, with Tom's CdA coming out extremely low, and 0.015 lower than last year's setup. This is a huge gain for an athlete who was already so dialled.

We're super excited to see Tom take on the best athletes in the world onboard his Vulcan in the coming months, before delivering an upgrade package mid-season ahead of his A races.
